⚡ Before vs after

What changes when ITIL is part
of the tool, not a plugin.

😩 Without real ITIL

The situation today

  • Changes reach production with no traceable approval
  • Recurring incidents never become an investigated problem
  • The CMDB lives in a spreadsheet, outdated and with no relationships between CIs
  • The service catalog is a list of HR and IT e-mail addresses
  • Auditors ask for evidence nobody can extract
🚀 With Milldesk

How it looks

  • Visual approval workflow for each change type
  • Automatic linking of incidents to a root problem
  • Native CMDB with relationships between CIs and impact
  • A structured catalog with forms per service type
  • Complete audit trail

❓ Frequently asked questions

Questions about service desk
and ITIL rollout.

What is a service desk system and how is it different from a help desk?

A service desk is the single point of contact (SPOC) between users and IT, going beyond the reactive support of a help desk.

It covers every ITIL practice: incident, problem, change and configuration management (CMDB) and the service catalog. A help desk solves the problem that just appeared; a service desk makes sure the whole operation is governed by process.

Is Milldesk ITIL certified?
Yes. Milldesk is certified ITIL Accredited Tool Vendor by PeopleCert, the official body responsible for ITIL certifications worldwide. It means the platform meets the technical requirements of the ITIL framework and can be used safely in operations that need to evidence adherence to the standard.
How does the CMDB work in Milldesk?
Milldesk's CMDB (Configuration Management Database) lets you register Configuration Items (CIs) — servers, applications, contracts, licenses — and establish relationships between them. When a ticket affects a CI, every related impact becomes visible automatically. You can answer questions like "if this server goes down, how many services and users are affected?".
Does a service desk work for areas beyond IT?
Yes. Milldesk's Shared Services Center lets multiple departments operate on the same platform with distinct flows, SLAs and forms. We commonly see customers using it for IT, HR, Facilities, Procurement and even Finance. Each department has its own governance, but the company gets a single consolidated view.
How long does it take to roll out an ITIL service desk?
Simple operations are running within up to 7 days. Full ITIL operations, with data migration, CMDB setup and flow mapping per department, typically take 30 days with our Customer Success team following along (included in the Premium plan). No mandatory third-party consulting, no extra rollout cost. See full plans →
